General Thoughts
(Week 10)
Colts Beat Jets Convincingly? - Seems like it. This game had that "Game of the Week" atmosphere, as the 6-2 Indianapolis Colts came to town to face the 7-1 New York Jets. All would seem good in the first 4 minutes of play, as the Colts would strike with a Peyton Manning TD pass to Dallas Clark, a score that the Jets would answer right back with a kickoff return to tie the game at 7. But from there, things seemed to take a wrong turn for the Jets. The Colts would tack on 2 more TDs before the Jets cut it back to a one score game, putting it at 21-14. From the end of the 2nd through the 3rd, the Colts would add 3 more TDs to go up 42-14. Jets would add 2 more scores while the Colts added 1, to put the final score at 49-28. Indianapolis played like they were out to prove something, and it showed in their win against a very good New York team. of

General Thoughts
(Week 10)
Heartbreaker In Miami? - The New England Patriots were oh so close to getting their first win of the season in Week 10. In a game controlled early by Miami (19-6 halfime lead), the Pats battled back, taking the lead after nailing a FG with 1:49 left to put them up 26-22. All they needed was 1 more stop to seal the game and get their first win. A few plays later, Dolphins QB Chad Henne would find Brandon Marshall for a 52-Yard TD to put the Dolphins up 29-26 with 41 seconds left. New England would fail to score, giving Miami their 3rd win of the season. The Patriots are seemingly running out of time to get that ever elusive win, but if they continue to play competitive like in this game, you will mostly likely see them with a win before the 2013 season is in the books.
Steelers Take 1st Step? - Seems like the Steelers took their 1st step to getting back on track. With a convincing 22-3 win over a good Bengals, Pittsburgh hopes that this sparks a series of wins as they look to make a playoff push. If they continue to play like this, there's no doubt that another playoff appearance will be in the cards for the Steelers.
(Week 11)
Game of the Week #1? - The defenses may have went AWOL in the Falcons/Buccaneers game this past week, but the offenses showed up and showed out. Atlanta and Tampa Bay battled to a 52-48 final score, with the Falcons coming out on top in a game that totaled 100 points. In a game that turned into a back and forth affair in the 2nd half, The Bucs found themselves with the lead when Parker Boates took returned the kick 100 yards to put them up 48-44 with 1:44 left in the game. This score happened just seconds after a successful FG attempt from the Falcons. The Falcons, though, would drive down the field and score when Matt Ryan sneaked it in for a TD, leaving 0:15 on the clock. Instead of settling for the extra point to make it a 3-point game, Atlanta wanted to ensure that the Tampa had to score a TD to beat them. In a gutsy call, the Falcons would go for the 2-point conversion and succeed, which lead to their victory. What an awesome game between 2 divisional rivals. Game of the Week #2? - What was that? There's another "Game of the Week"? I thought there was only supposed to be 1 game of the week? Well, I just couldn't leave this game out. The Baltimore Ravens hooked up with the Pittsburgh Steelers in a game that saw both team battled to the end. After hitting a FG to go up 27-19, the Ravens had 0:45 to try and tie the game up. On what would appear to be a devastating fumble, Ravens WR Lacy Williams would pick it up and take it the distance 80 yards for a TD, pulling the Ravens within 2. Baltimore had no choice but to attempt the 2-point conversion to try and tie the game. The conversion, however would fail, and the Steelers would later seal that game. Looks like yet another great divisional matchup this week.
Game of the Week #3? - Okay, this is getting ridiculous... another game of the week?! Are you kidding me?! The Seattle Seahawks were able to defeat the Tennessee Titans in a come from behind victory that had the hometown crowd going nuts! Down 27-21 in the 4th, the Seahawks scored on a 38 yard TD pass from Chris Robinson to D. Colbert to put them up 28-27. After holding off the Titan attack, Seattle would add to their lead when Robinson finds Todd Heap for another passing TD, this time a 17-yarder. This would prove to be the dagger in the heart of the Tennessee, as they failed to get a score in the final 2 minutes of the game. Man, another great game... there can't be anymore can there?
Game of the Week #4? - .... what else is there to say? This must have been the week of Games of the Week or something. The Detroit Lions battled the New York Giants in a match-up that saw the Lions fall just shy of making a comeback to win the game. Down 14-0 late in the 1st, the Lions would knock in a FG to cut the lead to 11. Before the half, the Lions would add a TD when Matthew Stafford found Tony Scheffler for a 1 yard pass to go into the break down 14-10. Now in the 3rd, Detroit would add a FG to cut the lead to 1, which would end up being the last score of the game. Both defenses went into lock down mode, allowing the opposing offenses no points. This seemed like a brutal heavyweight fight were neither team could get that knock out punch, and the judges had to decide the win. If you like defense, I'm pretty sure you loved this game.
Lions & Vikings & Packers... Oh My? - Okay are we done with the games of the week? Seriously? Okay... now that those are out the way (lol), it's time to move on to other things. Hurts my heart to leave the Bears out of that phrase, as Frank is a great guy who's falling on hard times right now. But the 3 teams mentioned in the tagline... well... they're still in the race for the NFC North Title. The Vikings currently lead the division at 6-4, with the Lions right behind at 5-5, and the Pack right behind them at 4-6. With 6 more games left on the schedule, it's gonna be a race to the finish in this division, and it should be an exciting one.
