    The Week 14 Edition
    of

    Dro's Corner - Week 14 (13-14) DrosCornerFinal
We're back for another edition of Dro's Corner! Time to travel back to Week 14 to take a look at some of the happenings the week had to offer.

    General Thoughts of Week 14
Panthers Edge Pats? - The Carolina Panthers were able to defeat the New England Patriots 33-30 in a great game. The Patriots, who in the 3rd quarter found out that they were down by 9, eventually took the lead with 2 scores. The first score came late in the 3rd, when Chris Simms (yes, the quarterback) found Julian Edelman for a 12-yard, but failed to convert the PAT. After a defensive battle in the 4th, the second score came with 1:37 left in the game. Simms would find Edleman again, this time from 5 yards out to give the Pats a 30-26 lead. With their hopes of a win in the balance, the Panthers would respond, scoring with 11 seconds left in the game. What became to be the winning score was a 4-yard TD pass from Jimmy Clausen to Armanti Edwards after an impressive march down the field by Carolina. With the win, Carolina improves to 5-8, while New England drops to 1-12.

Cowboy Comeback? - The Dallas Cowboys defeated the New York Giants in another thrilling game. Down 24-13 in the 4th, The Cowboys were able to get in the endzone when Brandon Jones took it in for an 8-yard TD. Dallas would decided to go for 2 and get it, making the score 24-21. The Giants would march back down the field though, and would seemingly push their lead to 10 with a TD pass from Eli Manning to Hakeem Nicks. But after a Dallas challenge, it was clearly shown that Nicks was not able to get his second foot down, forcing the Giants to settle for a FG. The Cowboys would come back out and put on a great drive, capping it off when Tony Romo found Bernard Berrian for a 12-yard TD to go up 28-27. This score only left 39 seconds on the clock for the Giants to respond. Unfortunately for them, Manning would be picked off by Terrence McGee, sealing the win for Dallas in an impressive game.

Niners' Offense Makes a 2nd Half Appearance? - The San Francisco 49ers found themselves in trouble early in their game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. It seemed like everything they tried on offense just did not work. The gave up 2 turnovers that resulted in TDs, and by halftime they found themselves down 17-7. The defense, however, did all they could to keep the Niners in the game. And when the 2nd half rolled around, the Niners offense striked. San Francisco was able to score 21 2nd Half points, beating the Jags 28-20. The San Francisco defense, who played well all game, forced 3 INTs from Jamarcus Austin. Impressive win for the Niners, who next season could turn some heads under Coach MIM.

Browns Escape Late Bengals Comeback? - The Cleveland Browns pulled out a win in a game where the Bengals just would not give up. Down 24-7 after the half, the Bengals fight back into the game, adding 10 points off of a A. Pettrey FG and a O. Holliday TD run. The Browns, though, would strike in the 4th when Colt McCoy finds Robert Meachem for a 15-yard TD, giving the Browns a 31-17 lead. The Bengals would not back down though, pulling off 17 unanswered points with 2 Carson Palmer TD passes and another successful FG. The last score, which was a TD pass to Andre Caldwell, left 1:22 for the Browns to work with. Cleveland would march down the field and score when McCoy finds Meachem again, this time for a 16-yard TD pass that became the game winner. Cincinnati fought valiantly, but the Browns just managed to edge them, 38-34.
