General Thoughts of Week 13
Bills Take The Lead? - The Buffalo Bills were able to defeat the New York Jets 27-15 this week, making them the current #1 in the AFC East. The difference in this game? The Bills scored touchdowns while the Jets were held to field goals. The Buffalo defense did a great job of forcing New York to settle for FGs. While the Bills had some FGs of their own, they also had 3 TDs to go along with them. The Bills, who sit atop of the AFC East at 8-4, look to keep their winning ways going to keep the now 7-5 Jets behind them in the division race. They did, however, lose QB Levi Brown for the next 7 weeks due to a broken collarbone. Good thing they were running a 2-QB system, which means this won't be Kenneth Quigley's first time stepping on the field.of

General Thoughts of Week 13
2nd Straight a Big One? - Not only did the Miami Dolphins get their 2nd Straight win, but they were able to do it against the Atlanta Falcons, 20-14. Miami played great defensively in this one, as they only gave up 14 points to a team that usually averages anywhere from 30 to 40 points per game. Brandon Boutte only had 1 carry for the Birds, so I'm assuming he may have suffered an injury that kept him out for the rest of the game. Whatever it was, the gameplan missed him because the Dolphins were able to keep Atlanta's run game in check, only allowing 37 total rushing yards. Another great outing for Miami this week.
Bears Finding a Groove? - It may be too late for the Chicago Bears to make a playoff push, but it's never to late to get some confidence. They Bears look to be putting a rhythm together for next season, as they were able to defeat a good Eagles team 39-33. Chicago was down early, but battle back into the game, eventually forcing overtime when a Robbie Gould 50-yard kick proved to be good. With a little over 8 minutes left in OT, Jay Culter would find Austin Collie for a 66-yard TD pass to win the game for the Bears in dramatic fashion. Chicago would end the game with 2 receivers over the 100-yard mark (Saint, 115; Collie, 101), and even though Culter was not perfect he came through big time when it counted.
Walk-Off "The Plank" Win? - The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defeated the Seattle Seahawks in a game that came down to the wire. The Bucs found themselves down 27-20 with 1:57 left in the game. They were able to tie the game when Josh Freeman would sneak it in for a TD, leaving 0:59 seconds on the clock. Somehow (don't know whether it was a turnover or onside kick), Tampa would end up with the ball again, get into FG range, and knock in a walk-off game winning FG. Definitely a heartbreaker for the Seahawks, but with the coach they have this loss won't keep them down. Tampa continues to move closer and closer to the division lead, as they are now only 1 game behind the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC South (Falcons, 9-3; Bucs, 8-4).
Steel Town Pulls It Out? - The Pittsburgh Steelers pulled out a 3-point win over division foe Cincinnati Bengals, 20-17. It what seems to always be a great matchup, the Steelers controlled the ball for over 25 minutes compared to a little over 14 from the Bengals. But judging by the score you wouldn't think the TOP would be that much of a difference. The thing that hurt Cincinnati the most had to be the 3 INTs that Carson Palmer tossed. Palmer struggled mightily, going 10/23 for 183 yards with 0 TDs and 3 INTs. Take away those 3 picks and who knows what the outcome would have been. The win pushes the Steelers to 7-5, while the loss drops the Bengals to 5-7.

Receiver of the Week:
Bensly Blake - OAK
9 Rec. 147 Yards, 5 TDs
Santana Moss - ARI
17 Rec. 314 Yards
Nope, you are not seeing things. There are 2 guys up here. Why? Blake had the TDs, while Moss had the yards. I don't think neither one of these guys could be ignored this week with their impressive performances. In a 42-30 win over the Cowboys, Bensly Blake corralled 147 yards and 5... yes 5 TDs. On the other side, you had Santana Moss grab 17 catches for 314 yards in a 27-21 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Even though he had no TDs, that performance is still big. For this reason, Bensly Blake and Santana Moss will share this week's Receiver of the Week award.Bensly Blake - OAK
