Packers D steps up to end 2 game skid, defeat Bills 23-3 5 picks and 3 sacks lead way on rainy Lambeau Field
Green Bay -- Sometimes it is easier than it looks.
For the Green Bay Packers, the last two games have been anything but easy. However, tough defense and solid running proved too much for the Bills and snapped the Packers' 2 game losing streak.
"We just wanted to come out here and get back to playing football," said Head Coach Dustin Coil. "The last two games are gone...behind us. And we needed to act like it."
The Packers struck first on a 69-pass from Turner to Hardrick which gave the home team a 7-0 lead.
Mason Crosby would tack on two second quarter field goals to put the Pack up 13-0 but the Bills would not give up as they found themselves inside the Packer 30 with just under 2 minutes left.
But Buffalo's plans went south in a hurry when Terrence Newman picked off a Levi Brown pass and return it 81 yards for the touchdown to give the Packers a 20-0 leading heading into the locker room.
"At halftime I decided we didn't want to get soft and let them back in it but at the same time we didn't want to get over aggressive and let them back in it," Coil said.
The Packer D made it all irrelevant as they put up an outstanding performance in the second half.
Ryan Lindell's 38 yard field goal with 4:31 left in the 3rd quarter would be the Bills' first and only points of the game.
