That's The Way The Ball Bounces, Giants Edge Saints, 24-21
New Orleans, LA (AP) - The Giants (5-4) traveled to the Big Easy to take on the NFC South leading Saints (6-3) for what would wind up being a fumble recovery drill for both teams. There were six fumbles total; four by the Giants and two by the Saints. However, only one of those fumbles would be recorded as a turnover. Kickoff coverage specialists Aaron Washington and Aundray Bowick put the hit-and-run on Saints return man Reggie Bush in the third quarter. Washington forced Bush to cough up the rock at the Saints 20 allowing Bowick to reap the benefits with a scoop-and-score for the Giants. The turnover for a TD wound up being the last points that the Giants would score in the game, but it was just enough to edge the Giants past the late push by the Saints. The difference was a missed 43-yard field goal by Garrett Hartley in the third as the Giants escaped New Orleans with the win, 24-21. Once again, time was the Giants friend as they held the ball almost an entire quarter longer than the opposing Saints.
