Re: Week 10 recaps
Lions win 45-21
The Lions offense came out pretty hot. They drove down the field and let the FB Felton pound his way through the line and score for a 1 yard td run that got the run game going for the Lions with both HBs over 90 yards rushing each. Aaron Brown had 7 carries for 91 yards and a td while LeGarrette Blount had 21 carries for 171 yards. Felton added 2 tds at FB. Overall, the rushing stats were 34 carries for 267 yards and 3 tds. Matthew Stafford kept the offense very balanced when he was 10-14 for 210 yards and 2 tds. The surprise stat of the game was that Calvin Johnson only had 1 catch for 20 yards. Stafford found the open guy all night and that allowed the run game to be very effective.
The defense stepped up as well when it needed to. Hughes had 2 huge sacks that made the Bears have to convert from 3rd and long. Devin McCourty had a huge interception that gave the Lions a 14 point lead.

Joe Cool was lights out against the Texans Secondary

Costly Win? Star Rookie Elliot"The Monster" Moore being helped off the field.
-
Houston, Texas.
Joe Flacco and the Ravens receiving corps were at it again, this time in Houston as they continued their high flying air assault of the UFL for the second week in a row.
1st Quarter:
The Texans started out fast and furious when Matty Schaub took advantage of a flat footed Raven secondary hitting a streaking Andre Johnson down the field for a 50 yard TD to open the scoring.
The Ravens responded quickly as Flacco marched down the field with long completions to Demaryius"Bay Bay"Thomas and TE Elliot"Monster"Moore before handing the ball off to Rashard"JuiceBox"House from 11 yards out to tie the score. 7-7
The Texans running game struggled to move the ball in this one as they would have to settle for a punt on their next possession.
The Ravens would run Ray Rice and House on their next possession effectively but stumbled when Flacco would get sacked by Mario Williams setting up a key 3rd and long. The next play seemed to change the momentum of the game as Joe Cool hit Demaryius Thomas for a 52 yard bomb to take the lead. 14-7
2nd Quarter:
Schaub was equally impressive with the Ravens trying their best to double AJ, as he found newly acquired Broderick Cotton early and often moving the chains before Jarvis Moss would kill the drive with a timely sack. Neil Rackers would execute a 44 yard FG to cut the lead to 14-10.
Despite constant pressure from the Texans D, and Rice finding little room against a stingy Texan run D inside early, Flacco stayed hot attacking the field hitting Ogletree and Thomas for big gains before finding Ray Rice wide open for a 31 yard catch and run to make the score 21-10.
After two mistakes by the Texans offense, one a ridiculous Haloti Ngata 10 foot jump in the air interception of a Schaub pass(thank you All-Madden) and then an Owen Daniels catch and fumble on their next possession - these events found the Texans down 27-10 going into half as the Texan D did step up only allowing two Billy Cundiff FGs given the good field position.
3rd Quarter:
The Ravens drove the ball to start the second half mixing in both RBs Rice and House before setting up a play-action bomb strike to TE Elliot Moore for 49 yards before being tackled at the four yard line what can only be described as a vicious heat shot by the man they call Holmes"the Hitman"Okafor. Moore looked woozy as he was helped off the field and the early diagnosis is a broken jaw/head trauma (4 weeks).
On the next play Flacco quickly hit little used WR Sealli Davis on a stop route for a TD for a big 34-10 lead.
The Texans albeit giving up on the run game continued to move the ball really well in the air hitting Straughter and RB Baker for big gains down the middle before hitting a streaking Broderick Cotton down the sideline for a 51 yard TD to get the crowd back into it. 34-17
The Ravens trying to take the crowd out of the game focused on running the ball with Rice and House on the next drive. On a key third and short play Flacco hit an unsuspecting Texan run blitz with a PA HB pass to Ray Rice who was left wide open down the left sideline to take back the commanding lead and pretty much ice the game going into the 4th. - 41-17.
4th Quarter More of the same in the final frame as Schaub carved up a soft Raven prevent pass shell for two more scores (Coker 1 yard catch, Jacoby Jones 21 yard TD late)while the Ravens continued trying to run the ball and bleed clock giving Rashard"JuiceBox"House another score late.
Final Score: 48-31
Player of the Game:
Last week's UFL Player of the Week Joe Cool was at it again matching his perfect passer rating from last week as he went 22/26 415 yards and 4 Tds.
Joe Flacco has lead the Ravens to three straight wins and his recent play has fans believing they may have a real shot at and AFC Wild Card.
Other Game Highlights:
Matt Schaub continues his remarkable year: 19/28 417 4 Tds, 1 int
Ravens Run D - only allowed 12 yards on the ground.
Ravens Running Backs - 26 carries, 151, 2 Tds
Andre Johnson 4/108 1 TD
Broderick Cotton 4/162 1 TD
Demaryius Thomas 4/128 1 TD
Ray Rice 3/80 2 TD
Ravens Sign TE Carslon
The timing of the Moore injury is catastrophic so the Ravens have signed FA TE John Carslon to a one year deal as they prepare for the void of not having their star TE the next few weeks as they face their tough division rivals Pittsburgh and Cleveland again.

Re: Week 10 recaps
The Redskins were in a must win game with the Chiefs coming to town. One game behind the Eagles it was time to see what the Redskins were made of. Coach Lockdown has been ridding second year QB Parris to really start to make strides and lead the team. I think he got the message throwing three touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Chiefs struck first with Mr. Exciting himself Jamaal Charles ripping off a 42 yd TD run. The Redskins took the field and wanted to answer right back to let the Chiefs know they were coming in to win, and that they did with Andrew Parris connecting with TE Zach Miller for a 9 yd TD pass of their own. The Chiefs tacked on three points as the first quarter was winding down for 62 yds out!!! The Skins took control of the second quarter adding a FG of their own from Gano and Parris executing a flawless 2 min drill ending with a 17 yd TD pass to Devin Thomas. The Redskins headed into the half up 17-14 and receiving the ball in the third.
The Redskins came out of half time firing once again driving on the Chiefs and their Defense. The Skins fell short though settling for another FG from Gano putting them up 20-13. The Chiefs finally woke up and made a few big plays of their own. QB Tyler Doughtery caught the Redskins blitzing and connect with Early Doucet for a 57 yd TD pass across the field on a drag. On the very next play Andrew Parris went to play action and hit rookie WR Jacob Davis for a 77 yds TD pass putting them up 27-20. the Chiefs tried to make a come back late but were unsuccessful in doing so only able to put up 3 points in the fourth quarter. Ben Tate also ran very effectively racking up 96 yds on 17 carries. The Redskins improve to 6-4 and patiently wait to see how the Eagles fair out against the Vikings. GG chiefs.
MVP QB Andrew Parris 14-20 281 3 TDs
