Power Ranking as of Week 14

Hey Folks,


I have taken up the mantle of creating the Power Rankings for the UFL. Sorry for the delay in posting these. I have been doing some research as to the best way to compile such a list. After an exhausting search, I decided to use a generic formula.

To create the rankings, I used 4 categories that I thought to be the most important: Passing yards, rushing yards, turnover ratio, and points against.

Instead of just using the overall rankings in each category, I thought that passing yards and turnover ratio was a bit more important than the other 2 so I weighted them a bid higher than the other 2 stat categories. After the weighting and the addition then subsequent division, the team with the lowest score had the number 1 spot, second lowest had the number 2 spot, and so on.

I realize that some rankings are a bit askew since we have some new owners and so on but WHAT DO YOU WANT ME TO DO???? LOL

So here are the rankings. In the event of teams having the same score at the end of the calculation, wins were used as a tie-breaker.

31st? Below the 2 win Bears/Chiefs and the 3 win Titans/Rams? I think you might need to factor wins into this, but other than that nice work.

Its funny how Finz can be 8-6 and be near the bottom of the rankings. I'm surprised you didn't factor in special teams points to move you up the list. You might even be first since you score half you points on K\PRs. LOL!

Yea, I think wins should actually count for something too..not sure why passing yards was picked as such a big factor but oh well, everyone has their own opinion

I wasnt exactly sure how to add wins into the equation since we have subs so I left them out. I figured that the averages wouldn't make much difference with the top teams and it appears I was right. It seems to make a difference with the middle of the road teams but everything is so close in terms of wins that it doesn't matter to me anyways.

Keep in mind this was the baseline ranking. Wins will affect your power rankings from here on out.

LOL Frank....I wish special teams would have been a factor. That way, I would've gotten a better ranking....
