Face 2 Face Season 4 Week 10 with Finz
This week it is my pleasure to be interviewing Finz 1 of the 3 new owners in the UFL. Not going to like guys this guy has a lot of potential. Join me in welcoming him into the UFL Family. This is the league to be in and were more than happy to have such a stand up guy with us man so thanks for your contributions to this league
1. Welcome bro, 1st let me start off with some obvious stuff what has been the difference between this league and pervious leagues you have been in? If you could just share with us a few differences may it be activity or anything?
My pleasure Jersey. The biggest difference between this league and the other 2 I have been in is level of involvement by all participants. In the league I run, very few are active and our ownership has been a revolving door since day 1. Also, the additional content is so unique in this league. I can't believe how much time people put into this league, which is obviously a great thing. Lastly, the game skill level. When I had joined, I hadn't playing in a league that was All Madden, so it took a bit of an adjustment period. Sanchez threw quite a few INTs in my first UFL game against JP and his dirty Eagles.
2.Since you been here who has been your biggest competition? Who has challenged you the most? Who have you had the back and forth chess match with?
Hard to say. I would probably say Money. When I played him in week 17 of last season, I had a pretty big lead and got complacent, which allowed him to come back against me. The final score wasn't really indicative to how the game actually went. In the second matchup, I got behind early and was forced to play out of my style with VY so he won easily. I haven't really been on the dominant side of the game in this league, which I love. Makes things interesting to know that you really don't know what to expect week to week.
3. Talk me threw your mind-set on releasing Sanchez? Were you convinced V. Young was the man of the future? Was Sanchez just dead weight and saved your from having too release a star? Many around the league Don't put Sanchez and start in the same sentence, would you put V. Young in that Category?
I wasn't convinced VY was the man at all. On the contrary, I assumed I would get him back via FA. Losing him to Bison by 1 was a ball kick. I wasn't really a fan of Sanchez at all so that clouded my better judgement. In retrospect, it was a stupid move. I had been getting offers for my O-Linemen all offseason, especially from you so I had assumed that they were coveted in this league. Not knowing what to expect in the offseason was a huge disadvantage for us noobs. That said, I will always release a top OL from now on if I have to.
4.Your pass D has been outstanding ranking in the Top 10 in a madden version where people are pass happy an example of this is the past 2 years there has have been 6 5,000 yard passers which is a crazy stat but in the era of the pass you have played great pass D, Can you walk us threw what this accomplishment means to you?
It would be great if the stats weren't misleading. I gave up some big games against the run so my first two bastard opponents didn't need to pass so that kinda makes the pass D look better than what it should be. That said, I am proud of it because my CBs, besides Revis, are balls. Whoever had this team before me *cough Foed* really boned me. Why he would trade Patrick Robinson and Tracy Porter for this bunch of scrubs is beyond me LOL.
5. Having Revis Island in a trade for Bress which was before your time seemed to most as one of the biggest trades in UFL history Revis has really helped your pass D but your O has struggled do you blame your curtain QB or just a lack of other Skilled Positions?
In madden, you can roll with lower rated guys at skill positions and still be successful but the lack of a top QB has definitely hurt. Drew Brees is so accurate in 11, coupled with the fact that I am the Saints in my other league, gets me accustomed to a play style that was very difficult to adopt in the UFL. Again, Foed screws me.....
6. Give me your biggest win? & What were your Keys to victory in this game and in all your games this season?
My biggest win would probably be the week 17 game vs. Money. When I was talking to Cards about coming into the league, he had told me how good money was so that makes it an obvious choice. Last year, coming in the Saints didn't have a great record and I went 3-1 down the stretch to almost make it into the playoffs, which I am also proud of. I beat Chiefs, JHR, and Money and lost to JP by 5 in my first game. All big wins in my opinion. As for keys to the game, I would have to say turnovers. If I can limit the amount of INTs that VY makes, I can compete. If I make a stupid mistake, which is bound to happen, its going to be an uphill climb.
7. Can you share with us Why you choose the name Finz? I'm assuming it has something to do with you being a good swimmer? LoL
My last name is Finlay, combined with the fact that Im a Dolphins fan. Its been my nickname since I was a kid. I was a huge Dan Marino fan, until he started doing those commercials for Isotoner gloves that is. It was always amazing watching him carve up the Bills teams of old, until they got good, anyways.
8. What is your relation to our other 2 Canadian owners Frank2.0 & ShamelessAnt?
Well, I don't really like either of them to be honest. Both are obnoxious and down right cruel. And smell bad too....like pee....
Actually there are at least 2 other Canucks in the UFL. JP (who we don't count because he lives in Quebec LOL) and Fili (who is out west in British Columbia who also doesn't count because he's not from the greatest province there is....ONTARIO!)
We play on the same softball team together. Shameless runs the team and the infield on first. Frank 2.0 is our shortstop and error machine. Gawd his arm is terrible. I play CF. We are also in a fantasy football league together and the Madden league I run as well.
